Celebrating a Milestone at 3368 Washington Street

Recently, Pine Street Inn participated in a “topping-off” ceremony (a ceremonial raising of a beam as the structure is built, signed by the construction crew) for 3368 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain. Together with The Community Builders, our development partner for this building, we will open 140 units of permanent supportive housing for individuals moving out of homelessness.

“This will be life-changing for people,” said Lyndia Downie, president and executive director. “It’s not just a place to live; it’s giving people their life back.”

The project received strong support from the Jamaica Plain community, and residents are scheduled to move into the building in spring of 2024.

Coalition to Redevelop Shattuck Hospital Campus

Pine Street Inn is part of a first-of-its-kind coalition of community-based organizations, led by Boston Medical Center, proposing the redevelopment of the Shattuck Hospital campus into a comprehensive behavioral health and housing community.

The project, which received initial approval from the Healey-Driscoll administration, will provide an innovative approach to addressing the root causes of the connected crises of mental health, addiction and homelessness.

We look forward to working with partner organizations to create up to 200 units of supportive housing for individuals.
