Celebrating Pride at Pine Street

Deb Greene (she/her) is one of Pine Street Inn’s Coordinated Housing Solutions team members and a part of our LGBTQIA+ community. In her almost two years with Pine Street Inn, Deb has worked in both the Women’s and Men’s Inns, where she is currently a housing resources specialist.

“I’m overwhelmingly happy,” Deb says without hesitation. “I come to work every day ready to connect with our people. If I give my word that I’m going to do something, it’s going to happen. A Graduation Like No Other

A Graduation Like No Other

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Pine Street Inn’s recent graduates of our Workforce Development Program in food services and housekeeping! This year, we celebrated over 250 graduates from the classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022. Our dynamic Workforce Development Program trains individuals who are reentering the workforce, supporting them in moving toward self-sufficiency.

Thank you to keynote speaker Charlie Davies, former professional soccer player and Director of The ‘Quin Impact Fund, Taisha O., our graduate speaker, and all our employers, corporate and foundation partners who support Workforce Development and helped make this a special day. Celebrating Juneteenth

Celebrating Juneteenth

June 19 marks the end of slavery in the United States, when the remaining enslaved persons were declared free on June 19, 1865. While Juneteenth has been celebrated by Black Americans for over 100 years, it was declared a national holiday in 2021.

This year, we will commemorate both the injustices against and accomplishments of Black Americans, as well as celebrate the Emancipation in a variety of ways with shelter guests, staff and the community, including a BLM flag-raising at Pine Street Inn on June 17. Check our website for more.
